Using Fades in the Editor

Default fade behavior is set in the editor pane of the WireTap Studio Preferences. However the editor allows each fade to be changed in duration and profile. The fade's profile determines the rate audio transitions to or from silence.

To change the fade duration in the editor:

  1. Select a recording in the library and click on the Edit button, or simply double click the file.
    NOTE: To edit a file not recorded by WireTap Studio go to the File menu and select Open...
  2. Click and drag the fade marker to increase or decrease the duration.

To change the fade profile in the editor:

  1. Select a recording in the library and click on the Edit button, or simply double click the file.
    NOTE: To edit a file not recorded by WireTap Studio go to the File menu and select Open...
  2. Mouseover the center bottom portion of the fade to display the fade profile button.

  4. Clicking on the fade profile button will cycle through to the next fade type, or control click on the fade button to bring up the fade type popup menu.
  5. To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
